It's a girl! David Beckham confirmed today that wife Victoria is indeed expecting their first daughter
Speculation has been mounting for weeks that a baby Spice Girl is on the way, and the secret is finally out.
David Beckham confirmed at an LA Galaxy luncheon this afternoon the news that wife Victoria is expecting their first daughter.
'Obviously, we're very lucky to be expecting again, and this is the first time I'm going to say it: It's a little girl,' the Galaxy midfielder said.
'We're still in shock. Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon.'
Speaking at the team's annual fan luncheon in ESPN Zone at L.A. Live, he added: 'Our three boys are happy and excited, and Victoria is doing well.'
The couple, who have three sons, have up until now refused to comment on speculation surrounding the sex of their unborn baby.
Growing brood: Victoria and David already have three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz
Last night, a friend confirmed: ‘Victoria and David are expecting a daughter, as you can imagine they are over the moon.
‘The entire family is so excited.’
While visiting a Los Angeles children's hospital this week, David, 35, told reporters: 'She's great, she's very healthy. She's feeling good. She's in London at the moment working.
'We're very excited. It's an exciting time for the family.'

The ever-stylish Mrs Beckham, 36, showed off her bump as she flew into London this week – still wearing her five-and-a-half inch heel boots.
She plans to give birth near her home in Los Angeles in July and the friend added: ‘David was too excited not to be able to spill the beans.
‘At first they were not going to find out, with three boys Victoria was convinced she would have another one – and that was fine. But they gave in and they’ve known the news for some weeks now.
'Now, they just can't wait to meet her, they just want to make sure she's born healthy.'

The Beckham boys, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five, are also said to be 'overjoyed' about the arrival of a sister.
Beckham admitted recently he would love a girl, explaining: 'I'd love a little girl. We’re blessed to have three beautiful boys already, and if we’re blessed to have another one or two children, that would be amazing.
'Three boys is difficult at times, but there’s nothing that gives you that feeling of coming home and seeing the kids and spending time with them.
'There's nothing better in the world than that. If you’re a parent, then you realise that feeling.'
